Sonia Marinelli is a proud member of the best weekend news team in the country. She presents the weather alongside Rebecca Maddern (Host), Mike Amor (Host) and Abbey Gelmi (Sport) and regularly fills in for Jane Bunn during the week.
Sonia joined 7 News Melbourne in 2020, and works as a news reporter, relishing in her love of story-telling and capturing emotion.
Prior to coming on board at Channel 7, Sonia worked for the Nine Network. She began her career there in 2008. During her time at Nine News Melbourne, she reported for the 6pm flagship bulletin, national afternoon bulletins and for the Today Show and Weekend Today. She was also a regular fill-in presenter for the 6pm weather. Sonia was promoted to full-time weather presenter for 9’s Local News Victoria in 2016.
