Urbnsurf is a full-sized surf lagoon, with waves breaking left and right. The Wavegarden technology pumps out twelve waves every two minutes, and the strength of the waves can be adjusted. That means pros can be surfing barrels one hour and beginners can learn to stand up in the secondary break the next.
The place to learn is the on-site Surf Academy, where with all the gear provided, all you have to worry about is your surf stance. You’ll be up and riding a wave before you know it.
Also on-site is Three Blue Ducks café, an off shoot of the famous spots in Byron Bay and Bronte Beach. The food is superb, great flavours in clever combinations, like orichiette pasta with cavolo nero and pistachio pesto, or chermoula roast chicken with sweet corn salsa.
