My Melbourne Weekender with Todd & Shane

With The Odd Couple due to kick off at the Comedy Theatre in May, Shane Jacobson and Todd McKenney took a break from rehearsals so Shane could show Todd some of his favourite spots around the theatre district.

Now the best food nearby is in Chinatown, so they started at Hu-Tong Dumpling Bar, named last year by the Age as one of Melbourne’s 25 most iconic restaurants. There are some many to choose from, steamed crab dumplings, mushroom and prawn dumplings, pan-fried pork dumplings and of course their very famous Xioa Long Bao – soup dumplings.

Next it was something sweet, so they headed to Hey! I am Yogost on Russel St. Here you get a healthy mix of fresh fruit and yoghurt blended into a very refreshing drink. And don’t forget to head out back and play the claw machines. Todd won, you could too!

The pair ended up at Heroes Bar in Bourke St for some karaoke. And as Shane found out, singing karaoke with a mate is fun, but singing karaoke with a ate who can sing is even better. Todd got to explore some of Shane secret spots in Chinatown. Why don’t you visit them too!
